USA appoints ambassador to the United Arab Emirates

Martina Anna Tkadlec Strong has taken the oath of office this week.

United States of America appoints Martina Anna Tkadlec Strong ambassador to the United Arab Emirates for the first time since 2021.

In this regard, the US Department of State has said that Martina Anna Tkadlec Strong has taken the oath of office this week.

Martina Strong has been appointed to replace John Rakolta, who was appointed ambassador under Donald Trump.

According to the US media and Washington Post reports, Martina Strong is a career diplomat who has also served as the Chief Mission Officer at the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia for an interim period.

Martina Strong has previously served as ambassador to Bulgaria, Iraq, the Czech Republic and Barbados. She can speak multiple languages including Arabic, Czech, Polish, French, German, Russian and Bosnian.

Ambassador Martina Strong took the Oath of Office yesterday in Washington, D.C., in the presence of Acting Deputy Secretary Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary Barbara Leaf, Emirati diplomats, colleagues, and family members. Of the U.S.-UAE relationship, the Ambassador said,
“Our strong cooperation reflects the close alignment of our countries’ core priorities that underpin our shared security and prosperity.”
