Ease of visa process: UAE residents turn to African countries

Travel industry executives say that UAE residents have flocked to African countries due to the ease of the visa process and cheap tour packages.

According to the details, UAE residents tend to visit traditionally popular tourist countries like Georgia, Azerbaijan for vacations. Now there is an increased trend of them going to African destinations like Kenya, South Africa, Seychelles, Tanzania and Morocco.

According to Dubai tour operators, this new trend is being attributed to new and cheaper packages, ease of visa process, increased services of local airlines and cost reduction.

Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways recently signed codeshare agreements with six airlines, including Airlink South Africa, to enhance connectivity.

In addition, Emirati government-owned Flydubai recently launched daily flights to Mogadishu Aden International Airport (MGQ). In this way, it became the first airline to connect Somalia directly to the United Arab Emirates.
