Former US President Donald Trump has returned to social media (X) formerly Twitter, after his arrest and release on bail in the case of election interference.
In his first tweet since 2021, Donald Trump shared a mug shot taken in an Atlanta jail, writing ‘Never Surrender’. In less than 3 hours, Trump’s original post had more than 36 million views, 5 million comments and 30 thousand likes.
Trump’s tweet has received more than 127 million views in about 12 hours. Twitter owner Elon Musk retweeted Donald Trump’s tweet by writing ‘next level’.
Trump’s Twitter account was “permanently” suspended in January 2021 after the Capitol riots, but was reactivated after Elon Musk bought Twitter last year.
