UAE has announced the official holidays for the national day from 1 to 4 Dec including Sunday so it automatically becomes a long holiday weekend for the residents.

As we plan our vacations according to the holidays, let’s check the holiday calendar for next year so you can plan your vacations accordingly.

Below Islamic listed holidays are subject to change as per the moon sighting:

New Year Holiday

The first official holiday of 2023 is on 1st Jan 2023. But as the day falls on Sunday that means there will be no official holiday.

Eid ul Fitr Holidays

This Islamic year residents will enjoy a long holiday break which will be most likely a four-day long weekend. According to the Hijri, 29 Ramadan to 3 Shawal are the dates and the holy month of Ramadan will commence on 23 March to be expected.

It will last for 29 days and as per our calculations, the first of Eid Al Fitr is expected on 21st April which will be a Friday. So it means the holiday will begin on 20th April and ends on 23rd April Sunday.

Eid Al Adha and Arafah Holidays

The Islamic calendar dates for Hajj are from 9 to 12 Zilhajj. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Astronomy Society projected the day of Arafah to be on 27 Jun Friday. Therefore, Eid Al Adha will fall on the next day which is 28 Jun Wednesday.

Hence, a long weekend is expected to fall from Jun 27 to Jun 30. If this will be the scenario then a six-day weekend will be enjoyed by the residents as Saturday and Sunday are already off days.,

Birthday of Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.W

12 Rabi Al Awwal is the day of the Prophet’s birth which is observed as a holiday in the United Arab Emirates.
