Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will square off in today’s PSL 8 final

LAHORE – Today’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 championship game between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans will take place at Gaddafi Stadium (Saturday).

The final game was originally planned to take place on Sunday, but it was postponed because of the weather in Lahore, where the Met Office had forecast rain in numerous towns, including the capital of Punjab.

Multan Sultans and Lahore Qalandars, the two finalists, will compete against one another four times in this edition. Lahore Qalandars have prevailed twice in the previous three meetings, but Multan Sultans upset them in the most recent game, the Qualifier, which was played on Wednesday.

Last year, Mohammad Rizwan’s blue force was defeated by Shaheen Shah Afridi’s team, who went on to win the PSL 7 championship.

Sam Billings (28 off 21) and Sikandar Raza (23 off 14) made helpful middle-order contributions, and Mirza Tahir Baig’s 42 balls in 54 helped Lahore Qalandars successfully chase a target for the first time in this edition to secure a place in the championship game. In Elimination 2 at the Gaddafi Stadium on Friday night, the defending champions exceeded the goal of 172 with four wickets and seven balls remaining against Peshawar Zalmi.
