Kuwait decides to lift visa ban to Filipino citizens
Kuwait stopped issuing worker visas to Filipino nationals after a Kuwaiti youth raped and murdered a Filipina woman.

Kuwait has expressed its conditional willingness to negotiate with the Philippine government to lift the ban on the issuance of visas to Filipino citizens.
According to the leading media Middle East Eye, Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mansour Al-Otaibi has said that they are ready to negotiate to end the ban on Filipino citizens.
Before that, however, the Philippine government will have to comply with Kuwait’s demands and admit that its embassy violated Kuwaiti laws and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations. (Mansour Al-Otaibi)
Kuwait’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mansoor Al-Otaibi further said that the Philippine Embassy should stop these violations and pledge not to repeat such violations.
The Philippines must hold accountable the criminals who committed those crimes in the past and flout local and international laws in the UAE.
Why did Kuwait ban the citizens of the Philippines?
Kuwait stopped issuing worker visas to Filipino nationals after a Kuwaiti youth raped and murdered a Filipina woman named Jullebee Ranara in January 21, 2023.
The woman worked as a domestic worker in the United Arab Emirates. After this incident, Philippine Embassy in Kuwait took some actions which were protested by the Kuwaiti authorities. After that issuance of visas to Filipino citizens was banned.
