GCC citizens and residents can visit Qatar without Hayya card

The Interior Ministry of Qatar has announced good news for GCC residents and citizens who wish to visit the country.

Tourists can now enter the country from December 12, 2022, using their private vehicles. But still registration process is necessary before entering Qatar. However, there is no such requirement for a Hayya card to enter the country.

Regular entry practices are being followed for those who are entitled to go and travel from today, Dec 6. Whereas, those who wish and wanted to attend the FIFA world cup matches will still require a Hayya card.

Below are the rules that must be followed separately regarding the entry procedure to Qatar:

By air

Tourists can enter the country by air without a Hayya card. Also, they will not register on a website if they don’t have a ticket for a match. In case of attending a world cup match, a hayya card is necessary.

From today, (Dec 6) visitors can enter the country effortlessly with the same travel practice that was previously in place.

By Bus

Visitors can enter Qatar by traveling by bus without any registration on the website of the Interior Ministry. There will be free parking spaces allocated to buses.

By private vehicle

The visitors who wish to enter the country in their private vehicle will be able to do so from 12 December 2022. Though, they must register themselves on the Interior Ministry website at least 12 hours before entering the country. There will not charges any fee for registration.

As per the Qatar authorities, this important step is being taken to welcome a greater number of GCC country residents and visitors. In this way, they can come in and enjoy the essence of the big game.
