Biometric check-in to be available for non-residents in Dubai Airport

International travelers will now get the opportunity to have a biometric check-in experience at Dubai international airport.

Passengers at Terminal 3 check-in, boarding, lounges, and immigration will have the facility through the AI systems that will recognize their features. It will automatically be linked to their passport and perform identity verification.

Previously, this feature was only meant for GCC nationals and UAE residents but now this service can be availed by international travelers effective from 2023.

They have to only provide official consent by clicking through the emirate’s app, either in kiosks or at the check-in desks at the airport.

The agreement is signed by Lieutenant General Mohamed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA in Dubai, and Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates, in the existence of some senior officials pertaining to both sides.

This strategic partnership between GDRFA and Emirates is no doubt a productive step towards the improvement of the digital traveling experience of visitors in Dubai.

It will improve the traffic procedures of passengers at Dubai International Airport Terminal 3 and take them through an efficient and faster process of check-ins for both transit passengers and those having Dubai as their final destination.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Al Marri, Director General of GDRFA said:

Once this feature becomes effective at Dubai International Airport, it will turn out to be a huge support for the passengers traveling through Dubai Airport as not only they will experience a digital process but also they can easily avoid the long waiting at check-ins.
