DPS Chichawatni to construct new campus on Okanwala Road

The foundation stone of the new campus of Divisional Public School and College Chichawatani has been laid. The new campus will be constructed on an area of 6 acres on Bypass Okanwala Road at a total estimated cost of Rs 13.8 million.

Commissioner Sahiwal Division Javed Akhtar Mahmood laid the foundation stone of the new campus in a special ceremony in which Additional Commissioner Coordination Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Principal Brigadier (retd) Syed Anwar Al Hasan Kirmani, Project Manager Habib Jilani Vance, Vice Principals Muhammad Rafiq and Mudassar Rizwan. Board members Professor Qamar-ul-Zaman Khan, Chaudhry Sultan Mehmood and Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah and Assistant Commissioner Chicha Watani Mohsin Nisar Sheikh also participated.

The new campus will be a double storey with 24 classrooms apart from science laboratories, library and other necessary facilities.

5 crores have been earmarked for the first phase of campus construction, out of which 7 classrooms and an admin block will be constructed.

After the construction of the building, the boys section will be shifted to the new campus and the existing school will be allocated for girls.

Commissioner Sahiwal Javed Akhtar Mehmood expressed happiness over the commencement of construction of the new DPS campus and said that quality educational institutions are the need of the hour.

The way DPS Sahiwal and Chichawatni campuses are improving the curricular and co-curricular skills of students are a beacon for other educational institutions.

He appreciated the hard work of school principal Brigadier (Rtd) Syed Anwarul Hasan Kirmani and teachers for making DPS Chichawatani a higher educational institution of the region.

Project Director Habib Jilani Vance said that with the start of the construction of the new campus, its landscaping work will also be started.

Apart from this, a major plantation drive will be launched in February 2023 to complete the beautification and greening of the campus along with the commencement of classes.
