Are new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe characters available?

Since its release a decade ago on the Wii U, Mario Kart 8, a game that many have adored, continues to improve for players. That is demonstrated by the new characters in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
The 2017 Switch version of the game is ready to introduce new drivers and courses to the game.
“The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game has 42 characters to choose from—the most in the series!” says the Mario Kart 8 website’s homepage.
In the most recent update, close by a Yoshi’s Island course, there is Birdo to be invited. However, there are still five more! One of the most exciting things for gamers is to have five more characters in a first-party Nintendo game.
But why the changes? Kotaku makes a guess.
The Mushroom Kingdom
The Mushroom Kingdom remained unchanged in the previous game series. However, with the most recent Mario Kart 8 updates, things have changed and new characters from other Nintendo franchises have been added. This is exciting because it suggests that the brand-new characters could originate from any location.
It could be someone unexpected but anticipated at the same time, like Samus, who seems like an obvious choice, especially since a car based on her ship would seem like such a good match. Even better would be a course on meters.
There might also be a new take on the characters that already exist. Is there room for a second Link given that there are multiple Marios? Perhaps a Water-Wind Link? However, it could also be someone else.
Given Nintendo’s long history, there are no limits to what can be done with Mario Kart 8 DLC characters. It’s odd that characters from F-zero, a racing car game from the Nintendo series, aren’t in Mario Kart 8, which is about racing cars. The game even includes a F-Zero course and vehicle.
“Two further rounds of DLC are still to come, bringing more returning courses and characters from across the Mario Kart franchise,” Nintendo said in a press statement.
As a result, speculating on Nintendo is incredibly tough.
